Best Robot Vacuum Deals 2026: Roborock vs iRobot vs Eufy

Robot vacuums range from $150 to $1500. Here's which ones are actually worth buying in each tier — and the lowest prices we've found on each.

Robot vacuums got good enough that you should own one

The robot vacuum market in 2026 is mature. Even budget $200 models now have LiDAR navigation, mapping, no-go zones, and scheduled cleaning. The $600+ models add self-emptying docks, mop functions, and obstacle avoidance that actually works.

The question isn't "should I buy one" — it's "which one at which price."

The three worth buying

Roborock Q8 Max+ ($379 on sale from $599) — best overall value

The Q8 Max+ sits in the mid-range and punches well above it. What you get:

  • 8,000Pa suction (compared to 2,500Pa on the Roomba 694)
  • LiDAR navigation with real-time mapping
  • Auto-empty dock included (the "+")
  • App control with no-go zones, room-specific cleaning, multi-floor maps
  • 180-minute runtime
  • Mop function with vibrating mop pad

The auto-empty dock is the killer feature. You empty the robot's dustbin once every 6-8 weeks instead of every 3 days. This is the single feature that changes "interesting gadget" to "legitimately useful appliance."

On sale at $379, it's the best robot vacuum value on the market.

Roborock Q8 Max+ current price

iRobot Roomba j7+ (check current price)

The Roomba j7+ is the answer for people who want the "Roomba brand." iRobot pioneered the category. The j7+ adds:

  • Obstacle avoidance (actually avoids pet waste, cables, socks)
  • Self-emptying dock
  • Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal

Downsides vs the Roborock:

  • Weaker suction (1,700Pa)
  • No LiDAR (uses camera-based mapping, slightly worse in low light)
  • No mop function
  • More expensive at full retail

The j7+ wins on obstacle avoidance. If you have a dog that sometimes has accidents, or messy kids with lots of cables, this is worth the premium. Otherwise, the Roborock is better.

Eufy RoboVac X10 Pro Omni (budget pick)

If you can't stretch to the Roborock Q8 Max+, the Eufy X10 Pro Omni drops to $499 regularly (MSRP $799). You get:

  • 8,000Pa suction
  • LiDAR navigation
  • Self-wash mop + dock
  • Self-empty dock
  • iPath Laser Navigation

The Eufy ecosystem is behind Roborock's on software polish, but the hardware specs are comparable. If you find a Black Friday deal in the $449-499 range, it's a solid alternative.

Robot vacuums to avoid

Any "smart" vacuum under $150. You're paying for the word "smart" without the technology that makes it actually smart. No real mapping, random-pattern cleaning, no app, short battery, weak suction. Save up for the next tier.

The original Roomba 600-series. The 694 is still sold. It's 2014 technology. Skip.

Anything you haven't heard of under $300. Robot vacuums from unknown brands are almost always rebranded white-label units with terrible software support. Stick to Roborock, iRobot, Eufy, Shark, or Dreame.

Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum (older generations). Good hardware, terrible geo-locked software. Newer Roborocks (which Xiaomi invested in) are better.

What to actually look for

In order of importance:

  1. Self-empty dock. The single feature that changes daily operation. Non-negotiable above $400.
  2. LiDAR navigation. Maps your house accurately, cleans systematically, supports no-go zones. Non-negotiable above $300.
  3. Suction power. 4,000Pa minimum for carpet. 6,000Pa+ preferred.
  4. Obstacle avoidance. Matters if you have pets or kids. Not critical for empty-house cleaning.
  5. Mop function. Nice to have but don't pay $200 extra just for it. Traditional mop cleans harder floors better.
  6. Battery runtime. 120 min covers most 3-bed homes in one pass. 180+ min for larger houses.

When to buy

Robot vacuum sales follow the home appliance calendar:

  • Prime Day (July): 30-50% off Roborock, iRobot, Eufy flagships
  • Black Friday: Same or deeper discounts, but stock often runs out
  • Amazon Spring Sale (March): 20-35% off
  • Random Roborock flash sales: 5-6 times per year, direct through Amazon

The Q8 Max+ has hit $349 on Prime Day historically. If you see it there, buy immediately — that's the annual low.
